Special Characters In Adsense Ads
I’ve just come across the following Adsense ad on one of my sites, which seems to include a special character looking like an arrow:
I’m really not sure what to think of this - it did seem to stand out on the page compared with the other ads, which could be a good thing for click-throughs. But I have little control over Adsense ads in the first place, without publishers adding extra elements I could do without. If this were a publisher bringing attention to the ads in a similar way, then I doubt it would be allowed.
Indeed, I’m surprised that it is allowed (unless it has somehow slipped through Google’s net) - if so, are there any other special characters that could be used? What are your thoughts on these ads?
