Google Ad Scheduling
Google has just added a new feature to its AdWords management system which allows you to schedule you Pay-Per-Click ads by day, hour etc.
I’ve just taken a look, and it all seems pretty easy to setup - it looks like you can only do it by campaign rather than by ad, but this shouldn’t prove much of a problem.
Whether or not you want to schedule your ads is another matter. There are a few factors to take into account. Do you know when in the day/week people are likely to be searching for your product / service? Do you get conversions that need fulfilling immdediately (and perhaps can’t be at certain times of the day or week)?
Is there a chance that ads will now be cheaper out of office hours? I doubt it. On the whole, it’s a nice feature to have, but most people will probably still opt to show their ads all of the time. When Google adds demograhics to the Adwords management mix, we may then see more interest from advertisers.

After reading your post, I went to check out the scheduling feature. It does seem like it will help some people, but on the whole I have to agree with you. I think most of us will just keep managing AdWords the way we always have.
