Google Maps For Advertising

Google’s brilliant mapping service, Google Maps, has recently added the ability for businesses to add their details to the maps on a Pay-Per Click basis.Local business ads allow you to compete for the 3 sponsored listings places next to the maps, as well as having “a map marker that expands to show additional business details when the user clicks on the ad title or the marker itself”.

You’ll need a Google Adwords account in order to do this, but once signed up, it’s pretty easy to get your business showing on the maps, as this tutorial at Search Engine Watch demonstrates.

Local search is on the increase, and this is one tool that will enhance your local marketing.
