We’re Still Here

Crikey, nearly 6 weeks since the last post here, and there’s still work to be done on the templates since the upgrade to Wordpress from Textpattern. Despite the inactivity here, there have been plenty of developments in the web marketing world, and plenty worth reading.

So what has caught my eye over the last few months?

  • Performancing release stats tool - Performancing continues to go from strength to strength, and the growth they have seen in such a small period of time is testament to the quality of the content and the tools they are producing. The most recent addition to their tool set is Performancing Metrics, which provides real-time stats for blogs. I’m yet to try it out, but it looks promising, although is coming into the stats market with some tough competition. I’ve finally started to use their previous tool, Performancing For Firefox, with some regularity, and this tool allows for easy blogging within the Firefox browser.
  • Marketing Sherpa Continues To Shine - I love the stuff that Marketing Sherpa publishes. They provide real life examples and case studies for web advertising and marketing, and there’s usually something to take away from each of their reports. I recommend signing up for their regular emails (but Sherpas, why not jump on to the RSS bandwagon to give us all a break?).
  • Google takes nearly 75% of web searches in U.K. - WebSideStory reports that Google now takes 3 out of 4 search engine queries in the U.K.. Much higher than I would have expected.
  • Google AdSense Group Launched - Google has launched AdSense Help, a Google Group for AdSense publishers to discuss all things AdSense.

Hopefully things will settle down a bit now and I’ll be able to get back to posting more information on the best ways to make money from your website.
